The Sexual Abuse Lawyers Alliance (SALA) is dedicated to supporting survivors.
As a Canada-wide network of leading civil litigation lawyers, SALA’s members are committed to trauma-informed practices. First and foremost, we strive to create safe spaces; to appropriately honour the deeply personal experiences our clients trust us with every day.
Building on that foundation of trust, SALA’s lawyers seek to understand what justice means in each unique situation, while constantly evaluating the safety of the pathways to get there.
Our members have decades of experience representing survivors against both individuals and institutions and have achieved some of the highest settlements and judgments for sexual assault cases in Canada.
However, we also understand litigation may not be right for everyone. Our members work with each client individually and are fully transparent regarding the challenges survivors face within the Canadian civil legal system.
Every member of SALA works to advance legal claims of survivors of sexual abuse. However, none of us works alone. Together, we provide collaborative education and consultation, knowing our collective experience is our greatest strength.
As a national network of leading civil litigation lawyers, SALA advocates for changes to the law and broader social systems that have long perpetuated sexual abuse, and silenced survivors.
